Subscription - ONLY for residents
Subscription includes 4 hours of initial free rental time. Thereafter, NOK 30 is charged per started hour.

Maximum daily rental cost per rental is NOK 150.

For each rental, a deposit of NOK 200 is reserved, which is canceled after the bicycle has been returned.
Hourly rentals - for visitors and tourists
Best suited for short trips. NOK 70 is charged per hour started.

Terms of use Setesdal E-bike

This agreement is entered into between Setesdal E-Bike and you when you register in the app and accept the terms.


1 - Create customer relationships and purchases
  • You register as a user of Setesdal E-Bike services.
  • You can not share your user profile with others.
  • You must be over 18 years old.
  • Prices for using the service can be found at the top of this page.

2 - Use of the bicycle
  • You can rent for as long as you want.
  • You are responsible for the bike from the time you pick it up at a station until you have returned it to a station and the rental has ended. Do not share the bike with others. You are responsible if you injure yourself or others while using the bicycle.
  • You must cycle considerately and comply with traffic rules.
  • The bicycles are put out in good condition and continuously inspected and repaired. However, you may find a defective bike in the rack. You are therefore responsible for checking that the bicycle is in good condition before it is used. Brakes must be checked immediately after opening the lock.
  • You must immediately report via the app if you discover major damage or defects on the bike. If you have reported a defective bicycle and put it back in the rack within 5 minutes of taking it out, you will receive a refund of the rent.
  • If leave the bike during the rental period, e.g. If you are going to the store or visiting a tourist attraction, make sure it is securely locked with the rear wheel lock.
  • You must report immediately in the app if the bike is lost or stolen. If the bicycle is not properly locked when you put it away, you are liable for damages if the bicycle is lost or stolen.

3 - End the trip
  • At the end of the rental period, you must return the bike to one of Setesdal E-Bike virtual stations. The rental period ends when the bike is inserted in the rack correctly and ended in the app. You will receive confirmation in the app that the bike has been returned and the rental period has ended.
  • If you have problems terminating the rental in the manner mentioned above, you must immediately notify Setesdal E-Bike via the app.
  • Confirmation of the tenancy, if you have not terminated the tenancy correctly within 12 hours from the start of the rental period, Setesdal E-Bike can contact you at any time to check if you still want further rent.
  • Setesdal E-Bike may at any time terminate the rental period, if we have reason to believe that you no longer wish to rent, even though the tenancy has not been terminated in the correct manneror we have reasonable reason to believe that you have not taken sufficient care of the bike. In such cases, Setesdal E-Bike can charge you a fee of up to NOK 2,500 if the bike must be picked up outside the stations.

4 - Liability for damages, etc.
  • If the bike is lost stolen or damaged because you have not complied with one of the rules above, Setesdal E-Bike can hold you liable for damages, limited upwards to the bike's purchase price.
  • Setesdal E-Bike is not responsible for any direct or indirect personal and property damage that occurs due to a defective or damaged bicycle that you use, if you did not check the bike at the start of the rental period. The same applies if you continue to use the bicycle after a defect or damage has occurred during the rental period.

5 - Privacy
  • You are aware that all bicycles are equipped with GPS tracking, and accept that such tracking is a condition for using Setesdal E-bike.
  • Setesdal E-Bike collects, stores and processes various personal information about you. Setesdal E-Bike is responsible for processing this information, details regarding current information can be found in the Setesdal E-bike privacy statement (see below).
  • You have the right to complain about Setesdal E-Bike processing of your information to the Data Inspectorate.
  • By using services from other subcontractors in connection with the services Setesdal E-Bike provides, these companies may access and process personal information, but only to the extent necessary for the performance of the service. The identities of the relevant subcontractors can be found in our privacy statement.
  • Dissemination of Personal Data in addition to what is necessary to provide the service or what you have explicitly consented to will only take place to the extent permitted by the Personal Data Act.
  • You have the opportunity to access, correct, and delete, the personal information that Setesdal E-Bike has about you in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Data Act. You also have the opportunity to have the personal information handed over to yourself or to a data controller of your choice. If you request that the information about you be deleted, your registration in the app and access to the system will also be canceled.

6 - Force Majeure
  • Setesdal E-Bike can not be held responsible if the following circumstances prevent the bicycle service from being delivered adequately: Labour disputes, computer attacks, unplanned downtime on computer systems, destruction of infrastructure, theft, extreme weather, fire, war, natural disasters, terror and epidemics.

Our privacy principles
  • We will process personal data in a legal, fair and open manner.
  • We will only collect personal information that is relevant to the customer relationship with us.
  • We do not collect more personal information than necessary.
  • Personal information that we have collected must be updated and correct.
  • Personal information that we have collected will be deleted when it is no longer needed.
  • Personal information that we have collected must be treated confidentially.
  • We never sell personal information to third parties.
  • Our customers have the right to access personal information related to their customer relationship. They should be able to get a copy of these, and can choose to delete them from our systems.

What are my rights?
  • You have the right to receive information about what personal data we process and how we process it. As a customer of Setesdal E-Bike, you have created a user profile with us and can log in to the Setesdal E-Bike app and see what information we have stored about you. You also have the right to request a complete list of the information in a machine-readable format, so that you can transfer it to others.   • You can demand that we correct information about you if it is incomplete. You can also demand that your user profile be deleted. Please note that you can also correct incorrect information yourself through the app.
  • You have the right to request a restriction on the processing of personal data, for example if you believe the processing does not comply with applicable laws and regulations, or that the data is incorrect.
  • It is easy to withdraw a consent you have given to the processing of your personal data. Email setesdal@sharebike.com to change your consents.
  • You have the right to object to our processing of your information.

What is the personal information used for?
  • We collect the following personal information about you: Name and contact information (e-mail, telephone number and address), rental history with position data related to the use of the bike, payment information, information about the use of our website and app, and information about your contact with us.
  • When you create a user profile and rent a bicycle from us, we enter into an agreement. In order to fulfill the agreement, we must know who you are. We also need your contact information to send you information about and related to the tenancy. In order to manage and operate the service, we also need information about where the bike is located, which we get through GPS tracking of the bike. We can also use such position data to troubleshoot equipment and in connection with the implementation of the lease. In order to charge for the service, we need your payment information.
  • In order to be able to manage the customer relationship, we need to process your personal information registered when creating your user profile with us, including, among other things, to be able to respond to inquiries from you as a customer via our channels. We must also be able to check your activity in the Setesdal E-Bike app to be able to respond to inquiries about these services, for example by troubleshooting.
  • We are constantly working to improve our digital solutions. This includes troubleshooting and error correction. If you contact us to report a bug or make suggestions for improvement, we can collect your contact information, as well as information about your use of our app.
  • Your feedback and input about our services is important to us. Therefore, we conduct market research, make customer surveys and contact customers directly to hear what they think about our services. To conduct high-quality surveys, we use personal information to select who to contact. In order to provide you with improved and new services, we have the right to conduct such surveys.
  • We also process personal data to identify demand for new products and services and to improve existing products and services.
  • We use cookies to give you a better user experience when you use the web pages (www.setesdal.bike) and our app. You can decide for yourself whether you want to allow the use of cookies.
  • We may share certain personal information with our partners and suppliers. With our partners, it is relevant to share information that is relevant to the improvement of or the development of new products and services. With suppliers, we can share the information they need to carry out an assignment they have received from us. These can be consulting companies, advertising agencies, suppliers of analysis tools and the like. When sharing as mentioned above, we always enter into agreements that limit the supplier's access to the use of the information, including that the information cannot be shared further. We may also share data with relevant research projects in which we participate. Personal data may be disclosed to public authorities upon request, for example when there is a suspicion that a crime has been committed in connection with the use of our services. We will not share or disseminate personal information in any other way than described here. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
  • We do not store your personal information longer than necessary. This means, for example, that personal data that we process on the basis of your consent will be deleted, if you withdraw your consent. Personal information we process to fulfill an agreement with you is deleted when the agreement has been fulfilled and all obligations arising from the contractual relationship have been fulfilled. For example, profile data is retained as long as you are an active customer with us and deleted after 3 years without activity. Order history is deleted 3 years after the last purchase (rent), but accounting information is retained for 5 years after the deadlines in the Accounting Act. Information on position history is anonymised, normally after three months, when there is no longer a need for a full history.
